Exercise is a craft. Shokunin teaches: (1) focus on form over volume — ten perfect repetitions build more than fifty sloppy ones, (2) show up consistently — the shokunin does not train when inspired. They train when it is time to train, and (3) pursue mastery of one discipline — depth beats breadth. A person who runs well is fitter than a person who dabbles in five activities.
