Your home does not need to look like a magazine. Wabi-sabi teaches: (1) keep things that have a history — the worn chair, the chipped vase, the bookshelf that sags slightly — these are evidence of a life lived, (2) leave space empty — not every surface needs an object, not every wall needs a picture, and (3) let your home age — the scratch on the floor, the sun-faded curtain — these are not damage. They are patina.
