There is a line between enduring difficulty and enduring harm. Gaman asks you to carry what must be carried. It does not ask you to carry what is destroying you. Staying in a toxic job because leaving feels like weakness is not gaman. Remaining in a harmful relationship because endurance feels noble is not gaman. True gaman includes the wisdom to know when the season requires perseverance and when it requires escape.
