Mono no aware is not reserved for sunsets and cherry blossoms. It lives most powerfully in the ordinary — the Tuesday evening, the morning commute, the cup of tea you drink without thinking. These moments are the substance of your life. The grand events are punctuation. If you wait for the extraordinary to practise presence, you will miss the meaning of the sentence.
