Every craft follows the same cycle: observe, practise, refine, serve. The shokunin observes the master. They practise the fundamentals until they are second nature. They refine through repetition, noticing finer and finer distinctions. Then they serve — offering the result of their craft to the world, not for applause, but because the work exists to be used. Then the loop begins again.
