Minimalism says: own less. Wabi-sabi says: love what is worn. Minimalism is about reduction. Wabi-sabi is about appreciation. A minimalist discards the chipped mug. A wabi-sabi practitioner keeps it — not despite the chip, but because of it. The chip is where the mug became interesting.
